Learning objectives

  • Learn to learn cross-culturally and work within inter-cultural, multinational teams in the context of village located in Southeast Asia region

  • Be socially responsible and responsive leaders who are able to empathize with people from less privileged backgrounds (including subordinates and the poor) and hence able to respect the rights and interests of all legitimate stakeholders

  • Practice transformational leadership and transform the people, organisations and society so as to achieve prosperity and economic development

  • Be entrepreneurial and creative leaders who are capable of integrating and applying their multiple knowledge to useful purpose

What do I expect to learn?

In the SEED program, students learn and understand through practice by developing a viable enterprise plan with villagers which the villagers will themselves implement. By resolving the villagers’ problems arising from their perception of the viability of proposed ideas, students win the agreement and change the mind-sets of villagers through empathy and effective intercultural understanding and teamwork, thereby, acquiring skills in intercultural management, transformational leadership, entrepreneurship and innovation.
